Weed Plant Stages & Growing Life
Share
1. Germination (≈ 1–7 days)
This is where life begins—seeds absorb moisture, split open, and send out a tiny root. Cotyledons (seed leaves) appear, followed by the first true leaves. Use a warm, dark, moist environment for best results.Happy HydroTree Hugger Containers
2. Seedling Stage (≈ 2–3 weeks)
Delicate and vulnerable, seedlings need gentle light (ideally 18–24 hours/day), consistent moisture (but no overwatering), moderate humidity, and minimal nutrients. This stage sets the stage for strong roots and healthy leaves.
3. Vegetative Stage (≈ 2–8 weeks)
Rapid growth occurs now. With bright light (18–24 hours/day), balanced nutrients with a higher nitrogen ratio, and sufficient watering, the plant focuses on building a sturdy structure—roots, stems, branches, and a thick canopy. Proper pH (typically 5.8–6.5 in soil) supports nutrient uptake.
4. Pre-Flowering (≈ 1–2 weeks)
A transitional stage marked by a reverse in the light cycle (for photoperiod strains) to 12 hours light / 12 hours dark. Plants slow vertical growth and begin showing their sex: females show white pistils, while males develop pollen sacs.
5. Flowering Stage (≈ 6–10 weeks)
Flowers form (especially on female plants). Trichomes develop and resin production begins, rich in cannabinoids like THCA. Nutrient requirements shift toward phosphorus and potassium; hydration must be carefully managed to avoid mold.
6. Harvesting, Drying & Curing
Harvest when most trichomes are cloudy (for peak potency), before too many turn amber. Dry in a dark, low-humidity environment (about 55–65% RH). Then cure in sealed jars, burping regularly, to preserve terpenes and cannabinoids.
